“The Honda Foundation is privileged to be able to assist Wesley Mission Victoria in supporting vulnerable Victorians suffering from this disease,” Chairman of The Honda Foundation, Mr. Stephen Collins said.

Wesley Mission Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a range of community services in aged care, children, youth and family, crisis and homelessness, disability, employment, social enterprises and lifeline telephone counselling services.

The Honda Foundation’s donation will allow Wesley Mission Victoria’s Neurological Support Services to purchase a life-changing, purpose built bed for residents with Huntington’s disease.

With the purchase of a HD Hi-Lo health bed, Wesley Mission Victoria will be able to provide a safe environment for clients, particularly catering to the constant erratic involuntary movement symptoms caused by the disease.

Manager of Wesley Neurological Support Services, Marian Dalrymple, said the specialised bed will make an invaluable difference to the clients at Wesley Mission Victoria.“

Wesley Mission is extremely grateful for the donation from The Honda Foundation. It will make a huge difference to the quality of care and quality of life we can provide for our clients living with Huntington’s Disease.”
